1984 Ford Escort Mk3 1600 Bantam Pickup. RHD Import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. NOVA declaration has been done and it is now fully UK registered. We have the V5 here. This is a very solid truck which starts runs and drives. Its been worked and is scruffy and will need a tidy up / cosmetic restoration.

Body - Genuine Ford built Escort Bantam pickup. This one is very solid and original. Its very good underneath . Good battery tray, inner wings, sills, floors. Paintwork looks original but is scruffy as its been used for what it was intended - a work vehicle. Looks like all original panels, Outer panels have a few minor scuffs and dings but all fixable. Door bottoms are good, arches are good, rear tub is good. Front bumper is pushed back a little in the middle. It may straighten but probably best to replace.

Mechanics - 1600 CVH carburettor engine. Starts runs and drives , Good clutch, gearbox, brakes are OK. Carb may need a bit adjustment for the different climate. We have no information on when it was last serviced or the timing belt changed so expect to have to do this. Will also need a full checkover mechanically before being used

Interior - Soft XR£/ Ghia style type dash which has the usual cracks due to sun damage and will need replaced. Rev counter clocks fitted. Bench seats and door cards will need retrimmed or replaced. Headlining is Ok.

Wheels - 15" RS Turbo Alloys with 195 45 15 tyres which are unused.

These little trucks are very rare as they were only built for the South African market. Its very difficult to find one thats solid.Please feel free to come and see the truck. We have a ramp so you can look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required please ask for a quote.

As mentioned above this is a project vehicle and you really need to come and see it. We try and be as honest as we can in our adverts. The only problems we have is when people dont read the ads properly and dont bother to travel to view, then realise its more work than they thought. If you can do work on these cars yourself then it may well be a viable project. If your going to hand it to a specialist to do then expect to empty your wallet and end up with a vehicle worth half or less of what you have paid out.
